Tim A. Williams PhD, MBA

CHAIRMAN

Tim A. Williams PhD, MBA has more than 35 years of experience building high-growth, high technology companies. Combining his experience in Silicon Valley startup companies with a strong educational base, Tim brings significant experience in both technology and business leadership required to create successful high-growth companies. Tim has been a principal in 15 start-up companies of which four have sold for over $300 million each. One of these was Atheros Communications (wireless LAN) which was purchased in June 2011 by Qualcomm for $3.3 billion.

Many of the companies where Tim has played a significant role are private, but recognized leaders in the areas of telephony, wireless LAN and massively parallel computers used in high speed computation. He received his B.S. and Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Michigan Technological University. He also holds a Ph.D. in the subject of Fields and Waves and received his MBA at the University of Texas in Austin, specializing in finance. He is a registered patent agent and is named inventor on 26 issued U.S. Patents in the areas of Wireless communications, telephony and digital signal processing.

Daniel Field, MSC

Chief Executive Officer

Daniel Field, MSC, has more than 25 years of experience building high-growth high technology companies. He is the founder and co-founder of four companies where he serves as Chairman. Through his holding company Kodiak Technology Group, he has invested in and guided growth strategies for an additional number of companies; ten of which have been acquired. These technology companies respectively focus on a number of vertical markets with emphasis in health care, education and sports. Daniel’s expertise spans Voice Biometrics, Communications, Networking, Web and Database design and implementation.

Daniel has coded and architected a number of software applications and has supervised software development and teams throughout his career. Daniel is a technology leader and board member for the Olympic Sport of Curling. In this capacity, he helps to develop tools and solutions aimed at helping the sport reach millions of fans. Most recently, Dan provided technology support to the 2010 Winter Olympic Games where the Atom AMPD solution was heavily utilized, resulting in millions of hits daily. Daniel received his B.S. degrees from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and the University of Arizona, and his Master of Science degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.


Tom Bergmann

Executive Vice President

Tom Bergmann has more than 25 years of successful product, business development and management experience in the telecommunication, broadband, networking and communications industries. He is a proven leader in channel and product management with vertical market expertise in health care, manufacturing, telecommunications, government and financial services.

During his career, Tom has been involved in numerous product initiatives including developing an integrated wireless solution to successfully enable video conferencing applications, a wireless “Go to Market” strategy for Broadband Internet Services; and new wireless applications using in-building Wireless Office Services (WOS) technology. He successfully demonstrated and justified WOS applications in the hospital, university, and manufacturing venues resulting in national recognition of his contributions. Tom received his B.S. in Industrial Technology, AA in Marketing, California State University, Chico, CA and attended graduate school at the University of Santa Clara.

Roberto Alvarez Vela

Chief Marketing Officer

Roberto Alvarez Vela has more than 27 years of experience building and restructuring companies in the U.S. and Europe. These industries include consumer products, media, gaming, software, telecommunications, IP technologies and nanotechnology. He has been instrumental in the growth and development of a number of Communications and Networking enterprises and additionally has founded, invested and provided board services to nine high-technology companies in the Americas and Europe.

Roberto joined Coherent Communications, a telecommunications technology provider, to further develop and position the company for what culminated in a successful IPO and later the Tellabs acquisition. At that time, he was a management leader with Ipsilon Networks, an IP Switching disruptive technology company. This was the first company to develop and successfully market the first networking and firewall appliance; Ipsilon was acquired by Nokia. During his tenure with Nokia, Roberto managed the integration of Ipsilon with Nokia Networks, established the Nokia office in Miami, Florida, participated in the creation of Nokia's Mobile Internet Applications and Nokia's Mobile Software divisions, and managed the media, ISPs, XSPs, and gaming companies. A native of Ecuador, he was formally educated in the fields of computer science and business management.

Peter Fry

Chief Technical Officer

Peter's software development experience includes architecture, development, and engineering in areas including network computing, business process and workflow management, eCommerce, applicant tracking, and B2B. Peter began his career in web development and subsequently moved to network management, residential and business connectivity services, wireless access, firewalls and network security, intrusion detection, email and email security, application development and hosting, and custom software solutions.

He was instrumental in the architecture of SaaS business solutions for the educational sector serving as the Lead Developer and Project Director for web application development. He also served at IT Operations Manager and IT Security Officer. Peter founded his own web development, IT consulting company and served in a consulting capacity to a number of entrepreneurial technology companies. He is also a Member of the Advisory Board for Expressume.

Bryan Hepkema

Chief Information Officer

Bryan Hepkema is responsible for all product and support information related activities for Atom AMPD. This includes developing specifications and product parameters based on client interaction, quality assurance and testing, and overall management of the support function.

Bryan brings over 25 years of experience in the fields of computing and IT specifically geared towards deploying hardware and software solutions for data communications and connectivity. Bryan is an expert in Firewall security, Windows server and workstation configuration, Unix/Linux and system administration. He is also a proficient programmer in C, Pascal, PL/SQL and PHP programming languages. He has extensive experience in areas of Quality Control, Software Test Engineering and IT Management.

Sylvia Graff

Chief Operating Officer

Sylvia Graff brings over 40 years of experience working in both the public and private sectors of business. Her experience includes positions with the Department of Commerce's National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). In addition to her role as a meteorologist, she became fully involved with numerous Information Technology (IT) projects at the National Hurricane Center, the National Weather Service Headquarters, and the National Environmental Satellite Data and Information Service Headquarters (NESDIS). At NASA, she was an integral part of the Spaceflight Meteorology Group providing forecasts and weather support for the Space Shuttle Program. After leaving the government service sector, she became active in the private sector; starting a project management consulting business. In this venture, she became a consortium partner to develop, manage, and maintain a diverse database, web hosting services, and project/program management consulting services.

Sylvia served as the Acting Chief Information Officer/Deputy CIO for NOAA/NESDIS, headquartered in Silver Springs, Maryland. She also served as the assistant to the Director of the Grant Program for the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), that supported the Gore Initiative to extend and expand the "Information Super Highway." She holds a B.A. degree in Meteorology from the University of Hawaii, as well as numerous programming and computer science courses.

Chris Beyne

Director of Business Development

Chris Beyne has worked extensively in technology business development. His experience promotes strategic growth in bringing technology products to the Midwest region and to channel markets, focusing on the educational sector. His successes include development of networks and forging strategic alliances with the association sector for a start-up procurement technology company. This resulted in an endorsed product in the association and publishing sector. Chris participates in a number of trade show and speaking venues for the targeted markets served by Atom AMPD including the Educational market sector.

Chris holds a B.A. in Marketing from Roosevelt University and Public Management from Indiana University.
